About Kinora

We built the agency we could not find.

Kinora exists to give the people most serious about partnership what they deserve: fewer introductions, made with real judgement, by someone who knows them well.

Our conviction

Matchmaking is old work. Long before it was an industry, it was something a community did for its own: someone who knew both people well enough to say, with confidence, you two should meet.

What was lost was not the technology. It was the judgement — a person willing to hold your search in their head, to know your history, to notice when a candidate is merely impressive rather than right for you.

That judgement is the entire product at Kinora. Everything else — the interviews, the small caseloads, the slow pace — exists to protect it.

What we look at

Compatibility is not a list of preferences. It is three things, weighed together.

Shared values

What you each hold as non-negotiable: family, faith, ambition, money, place, the obligations you accept without being asked. Partnerships rarely fail on taste. They fail here.

Emotional intelligence

How you handle conflict, repair, and the ordinary disappointments of a shared life. We look for people who can be known, and who want to know someone in return.

Long-term vision

The life you intend to build, and whether two versions of it can become one. Timelines, children, geography, care for ageing parents — discussed early, honestly, before anyone’s heart is involved.

How we work

We keep our membership deliberately small. Each matchmaker carries a limited number of searches at a time, because beyond a certain point you stop matching people and start processing them.

We have no volume targets and no incentive to introduce you to anyone we are not confident about. A search that takes nine months and ends well is a success. A search that produces twelve pleasant, pointless dinners is not.

We also say no. Not every applicant is someone we can serve, and telling you so early is more respectful than taking your money and hoping.

Discretion & privacy

Your candidacy is never public. There is no profile, no browsable directory, and no searchable presence. Members cannot see one another.

Details about you are shared only with a specific person we are proposing to introduce you to, only in the measure needed for you both to decide, and only once you have agreed.

Your application is read by the people who would work with you and no one else. If we do not proceed together, we delete your file on request.

The people behind Kinora

Our matchmakers stay unnamed here — the same discretion we extend to you.

Between them they hold a network built slowly and by hand: friends of friends, former colleagues, people met properly and remembered. It reaches well beyond our own membership, which is how a search often ends with someone who never thought to come looking for us.

They are, before anything else, careful readers of people. They have spent years learning to hear what sits underneath a stated preference, and they are candid enough to tell you when what you are asking for is not quite what you are looking for.

Each carries only a handful of searches at a time, so yours is held in a person’s head rather than in a system. You will meet yours properly at your interview, and they will stay with you until the search is done.

We are not trying to widen your options. We are trying to end the search.
